Freediving in Bali & Amed

Bali combines serious freediving infrastructure with reef diving, warm water and easy access to a much wider Indonesia journey—from Amed and Tulamben toward the islands farther east.

Bali coastline and tropical landscape

Amed

Amed on Bali’s northeast coast is one of the island’s best-known freediving bases, with training schools, calm-water days and access to depth close to shore.

Tulamben

The USAT Liberty wreck and surrounding reef make the northeast coast attractive for divers who want exploration alongside structured freediving training.

Freediving plus travel

Bali works well as the beginning of a broader Indonesia route. Freediving Brain’s travel concept combines time in the water with culture, islands and boat-based exploration rather than turning the whole trip into a performance camp.

Marine wildlife

Manta rays and other pelagic wildlife may be encountered in parts of Indonesia, but sightings depend on season, site and conditions and should never be treated as guaranteed.

Wildlife encounters are always conditional. We prioritise responsible operators, local rules and the experience of the place over promises about specific animals.

Explore with Freediving Brain

Our trips are built around small groups, ocean time and local experiences, with safety and realistic expectations ahead of performance pressure.
